About the project
Project Overview
Van Racking Solutions designed and installed a custom Renault Master racking system. The project transformed the vehicle into a fully equipped, professional mobile workspace that combines durable storage, reliable lighting, and built-in power systems. Every element was tailored to improve organisation, safety, and on-site performance.
Customer Requirements
The customer required a conversion that would:
- Provide secure and structured storage for tools, fittings, and equipment
- Include internal work lights and external amber lighting for safety and visibility
- Integrate 12V and 24V jump start systems for roadside and emergency service use
- Maintain a clean, professional, and practical design throughout
Racking Configuration
Offside Racking
The offside features deep and shallow drawer modules, allowing efficient storage of both small tools and larger equipment. Above these, open shelving provides additional space for bulky or frequently used items, while a 24mm marine-grade resin-coated plywood workbench offers a durable and stable surface for on-site preparation and light repair work.
Nearside Racking
The nearside includes a series of removable blue parts bins, ideal for fittings, connectors, and consumables. This layout ensures all components are easy to reach from the side door, making it highly efficient for service tasks and quick repairs.
Electrical & Lighting
VRS installed a simple but effective lighting and power package to enhance functionality and safety. The setup includes:
- Work lights positioned to illuminate the load area, ensuring excellent visibility at all times.
- External amber lighting for roadside work, providing visibility and safety when operating in low-light or traffic-heavy environments.
- 12V and 24V jump start systems integrated neatly within the layout, designed to support emergency vehicle recovery and diagnostics on-site.
Rear Access
The rear doors open to a clear, unobstructed central aisle, providing easy access to both racking systems. Power connections and lighting are strategically positioned for convenient operation when working from the rear of the van.
