About the project

Ford Custom racking build

Ford Custom racking build for a catering company, catering engineers make multiple visits to their customers in the course of their working days. The ability to be able to access equipment easily is important because it helps them work more efficiently and ultimately save time. Racking design has been carefully planned to  ensure everything they need to carry is stored in its designated place.

Products we used in the build

The installation started with a 12mm replacement floor which provides a strong and stable base for the racking. VRS replacement floors are constructed from marine grade ply with a resin coating and marble grey finish, anti slip and easy to keep clean are key features of our floors. We also installed a replacement polypropylene lining kit, 6mm honeycomb construction, lighter than traditional ply and easily wiped clean.

Passengers side racking

Simple and functional for this side with open storage at floor level with a retaining strap, couple of open shelves with dividers and a row of plastic lin bin open storage containers. End of the racking unit is not wasted space with a paper towel holder and two strips of cargo rail.

Drivers side racking

Floor level is kept clear for equipment storage with retaining straps. Two metal service cases feature, each one has colour coded insert mini storage trays for small parts. Two small lockable lockers takes care of the users PPE and provides secure tool storage. Towards the rear end of the racking is a another unit giving even more lift off the shelf storage bins in mixed sizes.

Internal storage for ladders

Always difficult to store but the installed Jet rack system makes great use of the roof space to solve the problem.
