What the Client Needed

For this project, we delivered a VW Crafter Racking Solution for HV Power. The vehicle supports engineers working across demanding field environments, so the layout needed to prioritise organisation, durability and efficient access to tools and equipment.

By combining structured storage, enclosed drawer systems and onboard power, the van now operates as a practical mobile workspace that supports HV Power engineers during daily service work.

HV Power required a VW Crafter Racking Solution that would maximise storage while maintaining a clear and efficient workspace. Engineers needed to carry tools, testing equipment and electrical components while keeping everything organised and secure.

The key requirements included:

  • Maximising storage without reducing usable workspace

  • Creating organised areas for tools, testing equipment and spare parts

  • Integrating the layout with existing working methods

  • Allowing quick and secure access to all components

Together, these features would support engineers working across multiple job sites.

What We Did

First, we designed a structured storage layout that separates tools, testing equipment and smaller electrical components. Next, we incorporated practical work surfaces and an onboard power system to support on-site work.

This VW Crafter Racking Solution keeps essential equipment organised while maintaining clear access throughout the van.

Offside Racking

On the offside, we installed a full shelving system supported by rows of removable blue parts bins. These bins allow HV Power engineers to organise cable accessories, connectors and electrical components clearly.

Because engineers frequently work with small parts, this layout allows quick access while keeping items visible and organised.

Nearside Racking

On the nearside, we installed a full bank of enclosed drawer units. This side focuses on secure storage for tools, testing equipment and sensitive instruments.

The drawers keep equipment protected during transport while maintaining a clean and organised workspace. We also installed a rotating vice on the nearside workbench, which provides a stable surface for adjustments and small repair tasks.

Bulkhead Area & Electrical System

At the bulkhead, we installed a vertical racking section with labelled drawer compartments. Engineers can organise electrical components and access parts quickly when working inside the van.

Next to the storage section, we mounted an electrical inverter system that powers tools and charges equipment directly from the vehicle. This addition allows HV Power engineers to operate equipment on site without relying on external power sources.

The End Result

This VW Crafter Racking Solution delivers a highly organised mobile workspace for HV Power.

With structured storage, secure drawer systems, a vice workstation and onboard inverter power, the van now supports engineers with efficient access to tools and improved productivity across daily jobs.

The finished layout keeps equipment secure, organised and ready for work.
