About the project

Ford Transit racking for electrician

Ford Transit racking for electrician, customers often have to balance the need for being able to transport heavy and bulky equipment with the equally important need to be able to have an organised van for their tools and consumables. We helped this electrical contractor customer achieve the best of both worlds.

Products we used for the racking installation

The first product for this build was a replacement floor, we used a 12mm marine grade birch ply floor, with its resin coating and marble grey finish it is anti slip and easy to keep clean, most importantly it is a solid foundation base for the racking to be secured too.

Driver side racking products

Customer liked the simplicity of open shelving units, supplied with removable mats and dividers it is really simple to reposition the aluminium partitions to create different sized storage areas. With their 72mm front lip and 180mm back plate to the rear nothing is going to come off the shelf while on the move. The floor level storage is left open, the addition of a plinth means this storage area is more useful and an ideal home for the hoover!

Passenger side racking products

Absolutely nothing here, intentionally left clear to maximise the free space of the van floor to accommodate the customer’s equipment.

Bulkhead racking products

A locker is required with floor venting to carry gas bottles safely and securely so we placed it on the bulkhead and then added some open shelving to create an L-shaped design. We think this is the best way to provide the customer with lots of open floor space as we have minimised the space that the racking occupies.
