MAN service van racking system. Important for this customer was that VRS ensured that a much loved compressor and tool chest was integrated into the new racking system. Fortunately with our CAD software and the equipment dimensions we can easily make sure everything fits in neatly. The racking install started with a 12mm marine grade ply replacement floor finished in marble grey. Not only does it provide a stable foundation for the racking but its also anti slip and easy to keep clean. Protecting the sides of the van is a Polypropylene lining kit, its 6mm honeycomb construction provides the strength, plus it can be easily wiped clean.
Drivers side
Space at the bulkhead for the compressor with a designated electrics shelf and an open storage area above. Tool chest with five steel drawers above takes care of storage for an extensive tool kit. Towards the rear of the van at floor level is a 1.5mtr wide lift up cover providing a handy storage area. Six wide drawers plus two smaller ones and a locker unit sit directly above the covered floor level storage. Parts and consumables storage is taken care of with a balanced mix of large euro crates, lin bins and transparent tilting bins. High level space should not be wasted space so we completed the top level by adding in a 2.8mtr length extendible top tray. With its hinged end flap this makes loading long difficult to store items effortless! End of racking is the home for a telescopic ladder and a crawling board.
Passengers side
Floor level gets covered storage to mirror the drivers side. Service vans need to carry fuel cans, we added in a leak proof stainless steel tray. Coupled with our case secure system, fuel containers are stored securely and any spillages are contained in the tray. There was ample room left for five service cases, each metal case has included colour coded plastic mini bins so small parts and components don’t get into an untidy mess! Cases are on a slide out shelf unit so choosing what you need is even easier.
The unit has a 1.5 mtr workbench with a fixed vice at one end. Parts and consumables can be stored in the selection of transparent tilting bins positioned out of the way above the working surface.
Electrics & lighting installation
Internal and external lighting systems are crucial for a 24 hour service breakdown van therefore this build benefits from amber beacons and inset grille strobes. Power in the van is taken care of with a Kisae 2000w inverter with low power protection and battery packs. All the electrics come neatly together on the designated electric shelf above the compressor.
