Project Ref: PEB001
About the project
Mercedes Sprinter racking for racing support service van. When a prospective customer gives a specific brief we are used to finding solutions for all sorts of tools and equipment . However this customer needed to solve a unique storage problem we had not previously encountered. The customer uses an awning that fixes to the outside of the van and provides excellent sheltered cover when they are at race meetings. The problem is it has long support poles and a canopy that can easily get damaged in transit. We came up with an ideal and bespoke solution that fulfilled the brief. The inspection ports are in place so the poles and canopy can be guided into position, as opposed to being pushed into place, which really helps reduce the risk of loading damage.
Drivers side
The Drivers side has open shelving at the top with Euro crate storage underneath. The next section is two levels of bespoke storage for the external awning. Finished in chequer plate aluminium so it looks good as well as being tough and durable. Floor level has covered storage with hinged lift up flaps.
Passengers side
For the Passengers side of the van there is a workbench with vice, open shelving, steel drawers for tools and additional covered storage at floor level. The bulkhead has a drawer unit and extended work surface with transparent tilt bins above for safe storage of small parts. LED light strips added in to make it as easy to work in the van as possible.
