Returning customer, a well known name in the fork lift industry, asked us to produce a racking design for their latest fleet addition. The customer was happy with previous racking installs we have completed for them but for this new van, they wanted to make some changes. We spoke to the customer, and they explained that their service vans are carrying extra equipment and parts to service customers needs, They needed to make racking changes to increase storage for the field engineers.

Products we used for the racking installation

We started by installing a full Polypropylene lining kit, these lightweight and easy wipe clean kits provide protection for the van’s internal panels and provide a pleasing working environment for the user.

Drivers side racking products

Starting from the bulkhead we installed a case secure system and strap at floor level, which means it only takes a few seconds to clamp tool cases in place, and stored in the upright position, they take up less space. The next two levels of shelving each get five euro crate storage bins per shelf, with their high sides they are ideal for bulky tools. Three steel service cases feature next and take care of small component storage. Lift off the shelf lin bins are the ideal home for smaller parts and components and are located above the service cases.
Towards the rear of the van be put in covered wheel arch storage and then three levels of open shelving above, with removable anti slip mats and aluminium dividers they are superb flexible storage areas. Additional lin bins above produce a full length run of these bins at eye level. To make full use of the height of the van we added a full length top tray, with its hinged flap at the end which is ideal storage for longer difficult to store equipment. A heavy duty drop down vice on the end of the racking means the engineers can handle jobs that require a vice and rotating plate setup.

Full covered storage over the wheel arch area creates a secure space for this sometimes difficult to use space. Storing expensive tools correctly means less wasted time looking for what you need. The nine steel drawers in this design just underneath the workbench ensure they are close to the working area. To make full use of vehicle height we designed in high level storage above the bench.
