Ford Custom racking for a utility van. Customers’ vehicles often work in off the beaten track locations, so needed a simple but robust racking system that would stand up to the tough daily life they encounter.

Products we used for the installation

We fitted a replacement floor, suitable to secure racking to but is also tough enough to survive the off the grid life. Van Racking Solutions fits 12mm marine grade ply floors with a resin coating and anti slip finish, floors are cut on a CNC machine at the factory and supplied with stainless steel edging at the entry points, ensuring the floor is protected. VRS floors have support struts underneath located in between the van floor ribs, supporting the floor correctly ensures it does not warp with heavy usage. Easy maintenance is achieved thanks to the easy wipe clean floor surface.

Shelving units

We fitted open shelving to both sides of the van to a depth of 360mm for the driver’s side and 410mm on the passenger side, choosing different depths helps ensure maximum flexibility. Open shelving is supplied with anti slip mats and removable aluminium dividers, the lightweight dividers can be repositioned easily so if the user wants to have different sized partitions to accommodate different tools it’s easy to do. Even more flexibility is possible as the racking shelves can be moved up or down within each unit.
