About the project
Volkswagen Caddy racking for maintenance van
Our customer wanted to keep the floor space of the vehicle as clear as possible, therefore the underfloor storage solution was the most practical way to solve this common problem with compact vans.
Products we used for the racking installation
Two large deep drawers to the rear and a third drawer that opens from the passenger door are the most popular configurations. The three deep drawers provide the support structure for the raised floor on top of the drawers. VRS underfloor drawers are all supplied with anti slip mats and aluminium dividers that can easily be repositioned if the user likes to work with different sized partitioned areas. The long drawers are supported with steel ball bearing guides meaning they are built to take significant weight.
Racking products on the driver’s side
We installed a compact service case unit on slide out shelves, it is very simple to slide the shelf out, lift off the carry case and take it to the job. VRS service cases are constructed from steel and are supplied with plastic colour-coded insert trays, organising fixings or small components is effective and helps save time looking for what you need. The balance of the space is flexible open shelving, which is ideal for storing tools and equipment that you need quickly.
There is still plenty of free load space area in the van as can be seen from the images.
