Why ICE Clean chose the Volkswagen Buzz

The new VW Buzz Cargo electric van ticked all the boxes. With it’s impressive driving range plus fast charging capability, it was the right choice for the company. The Buzz has a real futuristic look to it and the load space is remarkably generous. Supplied to ICE Clean via Volkswagen dealer Parkway in Derby. Van Racking Solutions were very excited to be asked by ICE Clean to install a compact racking system for their team of service engineers.

Check out the before and after pictures, even after racking has been installed both sides of the Buzz there is still plenty of space left for ICE Cleans machines to be loaded from the rear or either of the twin side doors.

Drivers side racking

Floor level is open storage with retaining straps, this makes it simple to secure items whilst on the move. Two levels of lin bins with three units on each shelf, these can be lifted of the shelving easily and taken on site if required. Lin bins are ideal for parts and component storage, The perspex fronts are designed for parts identification labels if needed. Service technicians often need to use a vice so we installed a compact slide out vice platform. Simply slide out the platform, lock it off, adjust the rotating vice plate and you have a stable base to work on. Once the job is complete it takes just seconds to slide the vice platform back into the racking system. No available height is wasted in the Buzz so there was room to add in two open shelf units, supplied with removable mats and dividers.

Passengers side racking

Open storage at floor level with strap mirrors the drivers side. Two additional levels of Lin bins were added, in total that provides twelve storage bins to store parts. Two more levels of flexible open shelving completes the racking system for the passengers side.
