Ford Transit shelving
Ford Transit and Transit Custom models continue to be the UK’s best selling commercial vehicles. Businesses choose Ford as the vehicle that best meets their needs, partly due to the wide variety of chassis variations available. Recently launched to market the all Electric E-Transit helps Ford continue it’s successful tradition of being number one choice.
We are regularly asked by our customers to help them choose a racking or shelving system for their new vehicles. The best way to start is thinking about what needs to be carried on the van and how often it needs to be used. We always ask what trade or industry the owner works in, we can then advise what has worked best for other customers. Syncro Systems racking supplied by VRS is fully modular, therefore it’s usually possible to create whatever is required.
Standard open shelving units
Many racking systems feature open shelving units, because they offer great flexibility. Wide range of depths and widths available, all supplied with removable mats and dividers. With VRS Ultra racking it’s possible to adjust the shelving heights in increments of 36mm, therefore benefit from different levels to suit. Check out open shelving in a Transit Custom here
Workbenches
Transits and Custom operators who have chosen a higher roof model often do so as they need to be able to stand up and work inside their vans. It is easy to add a workbench into a racking design and also a bench vice is a popular choice. Choose a slide out vice platform if space is at a premium, it takes just seconds to set up and is a great space saver. For Engineering work pick the drop down vice with supporting leg positioned at rear or side door.
How to store parts, fixings and consumables
Most working vans need to store the smaller bits and pieces safely, in an organised way to eliminate wasted time searching for stock! Plenty of options available, two most popular are open storage lin bins which are easily lifted off the shelf. Transparent drawers or tilt bins are perfect for small parts and or fixings. Both options mean that you can easily see stock onboard which helps to reduce over buying. Eurocrates are the best choice for larger parts or equipment as they have deep sides.
Service or component cases
Available in metal or hard wearing plastics, these cases offer the option to simply lift off the slide out shelf and take it to the job. Cases available with colour coded mini bins, protecting costly parts and ensuring they are easily identifiable.
Auto Electrical installations
Adding some additional LED lighting strips inside the van makes a big difference and is cost effective. Charging tools or powering equipment means it will be necessary to include an inverter, lower power protection and additional batteries. Specialist electrical services often require the help of an Auto Electrician, click here to find out how VRS can help.
