What the Client Needed

Vista Aircraft Detailing needed a compact support vehicle capable of carrying specialist equipment while remaining tidy and efficient to work from. To achieve this, we developed an E-Transit Custom racking layout that combines practical storage with a dedicated preparation area inside the van.

The completed conversion turns the E-Transit Custom into a well-organised mobile detailing unit. Technicians can now store equipment securely, prepare tools on site and access supplies quickly without disrupting their workflow.

Vista Aircraft Detailing approached us looking for E-Transit Custom racking that would support technicians working across airfields and maintenance facilities. Because detailing work involves multiple products, accessories and tools, the van required clear organisation and a usable working surface.

Several priorities shaped the design:

  • A solid work surface for preparing detailing tools and equipment

  • Practical shelving to store bottles, tools and accessories

  • A layout that keeps equipment visible and easy to retrieve

  • A professional internal appearance that reflects the brand

  • Additional lighting to improve safety when the vehicle is stationary

These requirements would allow technicians to set up quickly and maintain an efficient workflow during detailing projects.

What We Did

To begin, we focused on creating a practical workspace inside the van rather than filling every area with storage. We positioned shelving along one side and installed a corner workbench that allows technicians to organise equipment when preparing for a job.

Next, we configured the shelving to hold detailing supplies securely during transport. Finally, we added safety lighting so the vehicle remains clearly visible while technicians work around it.

The finished E-Transit Custom racking installation now supports Vista Aircraft Detailing with a functional and organised mobile setup.

Offside Racking

The offside section of the van features a purpose-built corner workbench that forms the central preparation area. This work surface provides a stable platform for arranging detailing equipment, preparing tools or organising materials before work begins.

Positioning the bench in the corner keeps the centre of the load space open. As a result, technicians can move freely inside the van while still having a reliable working surface available when needed.

Nearside Racking

Opposite the workbench, we installed a compact shelving system designed for everyday equipment storage. The shelves provide clearly separated sections where technicians can place bottles, accessories and detailing tools.

Because the storage sits directly beside the rear opening, equipment remains quick to access when arriving at a job location. This arrangement also keeps the load area tidy while ensuring supplies remain easy to find.

Rear Access & Electrics

The rear of the vehicle opens into a clear workspace that allows technicians to reach both the shelving and the workbench immediately.

To improve visibility and adhere to airport regulations while the vehicle remains parked during work, we installed a rear-mounted warning beacon as part of this E-Transit Custom racking conversion.

The End Result

This E-Transit Custom racking installation provides Vista Aircraft Detailing with a clean and practical support vehicle designed around their day-to-day work.

With organised shelving, a dedicated preparation bench and improved visibility lighting, the van now allows technicians to transport equipment efficiently while maintaining a professional mobile workspace.

The finished setup ensures tools and supplies remain organised, accessible and ready for use throughout each detailing project.

The Products We Used

To complete this E-Transit Custom racking installation, we selected durable modular components designed to withstand regular use in a mobile working environment. Several key elements help create the organised storage layout and functional workspace inside the van.
