What the Client Needed

Valencia Waste Management required a Mercedes Sprinter that could operate as a dependable mobile service vehicle. To achieve this, we developed this Mercedes Sprinter van racking layout that balances heavy equipment storage with clear organisation for everyday tools and components.

The completed installation transforms the van into a practical engineering workspace. Technicians can now transport specialist equipment, manage smaller parts efficiently and operate powered tools directly from the vehicle.

Valencia Waste Management approached us looking for a Sprinter van racking system that would support engineers working across multiple service locations. The van needed to carry both standard tools and larger operational equipment without compromising internal space.

Several priorities guided the design:

  • Dedicated storage for tools, fittings and maintenance equipment

  • Clearly organised bins for smaller service parts

  • Secure drawer units for frequently used tools

  • A safe installation space for an onboard MIGI 502 compressor generator

  • External warning lights to improve visibility during roadside operations

Together, these requirements would help engineers maintain efficiency while keeping equipment protected during transport.

What We Did

To begin, we planned a layout that divides storage into clearly defined working zones. Tool storage sits on one side of the vehicle, while parts organisation sits on the opposite side. This approach prevents clutter and improves workflow during servicing tasks.

Next, we installed modular racking units with integrated drawers and removable parts bins. Finally, we positioned the onboard generator system at the rear to ensure safe operation and straightforward access.

As a result, the finished Sprinter van racking system supports both equipment storage and on-site functionality.

Offside Racking

The offside installation centres around a robust drawer-based storage system. Multiple drawer compartments allow engineers to organise hand tools, instruments and service components in a structured way.

Above the drawers, additional shelving provides space for equipment that technicians use regularly throughout the day. This layout allows tools to remain visible and easy to retrieve while maintaining a tidy workspace.

Nearside Racking

On the nearside, the layout focuses on organised parts storage. Rows of removable blue bins allow technicians to sort connectors, fittings and service components into clearly defined sections.

Because the bins sit close to the sliding door, engineers can access smaller items quickly during repairs or service tasks. This setup improves workflow and reduces time spent searching for parts.

Bulkhead & Electrics

We installed a MIGI 502 D/M integrated power system to the bulkhead area. This unit supplies onboard power for pneumatic tools and service equipment when engineers work away from fixed facilities.

Positioning the generator in the rear section keeps the system accessible while leaving the central workspace clear for movement inside the van. To improve safety during roadside work, we added a dedicated lighting setup alongside the Sprinter van racking installation:

  • Front-mounted amber warning lights

  • Side visibility lights positioned along the vehicle body

  • Interior lighting that brightens the working area inside the van

The End Result

This Sprinter van racking project delivers a capable mobile workspace for Valencia Waste Management.

With structured storage, organised parts bins, onboard power generation and safety lighting, the Mercedes Sprinter now supports engineers with faster access to tools and dependable on-site functionality.

The finished layout ensures technicians can carry out servicing tasks efficiently while keeping equipment secure and well organised.
